Made of micarta. This is the nut we use on our McSpadden dulcimer fretboards. The width varies around 1.486" to 1.5". Precut slots to accommodate playing with 4 strings with two melody strings, playing with just 3 strings or playing with 4 equidistant strings. Slots accommodate lighter gauge strings.
